Welcome to the Classic Finntriathlon Joroinen – the oldest, the biggest and the most beautiful triathlon event in Finland! It all started in Joroinen back to 1983 in the small agricultural village. 5 sport enthusiastic sport men had read about Ironman race in Hawaii and they got a brilliant idea, in the sauna of course, that they should organize one epic race in Finland as well. They decided to go with half distances and the first race took place in July 1983 with some 100 brave sportmen and women. Finntriathlon Joroinen has since year one had magical “Joroinen Spirit”, something you can’t describe. You have to experience it. Finntriathlon Joroinen is 2 day event including Kids Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon on Friday evening and Half Distance Triathlon on Saturday.

Prizes: Top 3 female/male elite will be rewarded with prize money and Top 3 of each age group (non monetary prizes).
Sprint Triathlon (17th of July at 17.00)
Categories: male/ female and juniors 17 and 19. Team relay.
Distances: swim 400m, bike 20km, run 5km
Prizes: Top 3 in each category
Kids Triathlon (17th of July at 15.00)
Categories: U9, U11, U13 and U15
Distances: swim 100/200m, bike 4km, run 1/2km
Prizes: no prizes
Sprint Triathlon, individaul/team relay
Half Distance, individual/team relay
Registration fee includes: Race info, race timing, closed to traffic and safe cycling routes, swimming cap, race number, accessory bag, service on the course, (energy drink etc), sauna after race, after race meal (meal included only in half distance fee).
Registration for all groups ends on 13.7.2020 at 24.00.
Withdrawal and transfer policy: Registration fee is not refundable. You can transfer your registration to someone else or for yourself to another Finntriathlon event in 2020. Transfer fee is 15€ and to transfer contact [email protected]
Cancellation Insurance: You can buy Cancellation Insurance (30€) as additional service when you do the registration. You can buy one insurance for each race you register in. With Cancellation Insurance you can
License and rules: License not required. The organizer is not responsible for competitor insurances. The competition complies with the Finnish Triathlon Association competition rules and the Finnish Road Traffic Act, unless different instructions have been given. Minors must have parental permission to participate in the competition, as well as the participant will be able to swim for 1500/400meters.

Courses: Swimming takes place at lake Valvatus. Estimated water temperature in July is 18-22 Celsius. All swim courses are one lap courses. Bike courses are on Sprint one lap course and on half 2 laps. Roads 4557 and 464 are closed from other traffic during the race. Note, that drafting is NOT allowed on Saturday’s race! Kids Triathlon run course is near race center. Sprint Triathlon run course is one lap of 5,2kms and half distance race’s run course is 4 laps of 5,2kms.
